The strongest of the three is the bottom one as it has better light and better composition than the top one. Did you crop these to be so narrow? Perhaps your phone is set to a very cong cinema mode... in either case, a less narrow image is more traditional in regular fine art photography. The middle on by the way is somewhat muddled with the out of focus foreground and leaving it in color without a good reason.
Hi Professor, I took the photos up close, so that may be why they're so tall and narrow, but I can work with different compositions. Noted on the middle image; I was trying to focus on the hinge, so the rest of the photo ended up blurry as a result, but I will be more conscious of how the overall picture is coming across. Thank you for your notes.
Hi Cass, Check your Settings>Camera and see if there are options to change the aspect ratio of the photo. Notice that the hinge is darker than much of the photo... ideally, er would like the focal point to also be a source of light. That naturally strengthens the compositon. The light on the bottom one draws us in to the composition.
